Civil Engineers make their mark at Silver Flag 2012

Presented with a wartime environment, austere conditions, and numerous combat civil engineering tasks, the 124th Civil Engineer Squadron successfully dealt with all the challenges of their 2012 version of Silver Flag at Tyndall Air Force Base, Fla., last month.

The exercise was an important warmup for the squadron, which will send the majority of its personnel to Afghanistan for a six-month deployment this summer.

Maintenance Leaders assess ORE Monarch Fury

BOISE, ID--After intense scrutiny during December’s Unit Training Assembly the 124th Maintenance Group announced an overall strong passing grade to Exercise Monarch Fury.  During this Operational Readiness Exercise, the group prepared for all the demands of combat preparation they can expect during the 124th Fighter Wing’s Operational Readiness Inspection re-take during April UTA.

The actual AF Academy Falcons

Back in October when Boise State hosted the Air Force Academy on the blue turf, we hosted the Falconry Club in our home for the weekend, along with four falcons.  I was TDY to the Academy last week, and was able to get a behind-the-scenes tour of the Falconry Club.  Attached are two videos which include trying to feed one of the falcons, and getting to hold one of the falcons.  Not your average TDY.…
